Diane Santarella

“State of Mind,” an exhibit of abstract acrylic paintings by Diane Santarella can be seen in Artique’s Underground Gallery. A local resident, Ms. Santarella is emerging as a nationally known abstract artist. A student of The Kansas City Art Institute, and Avila University, Kansas City, Missouri, she has studied painting with William Lawrence since 2003. A consistent presence in juried shows, her work has appeared in solo and group exhibits in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maryland. In 2004, Ms. Santarella’s work was selected for the Pennsylvania “Art of The State‚” exhibition and hung in the Pennsylvania State Museum in Harrisburg. She was named one of “Twenty Emerging Artists to Watch” by M. Stephen Doherty, editor-in-chief of American Artist Magazine in the 20th anniversary issue of Watercolor Magazine, Fall, 2006. Her work is represented by Carla Massoni, Chestertown, Maryland, and The Artists’ Gallery, Frederick, MD.
