Taylor Matthews

Raised in the village of lower Manhattan, Taylor Matthews always gravitated towards the arts as a child.  As he grew, architecture and technical drawing became his passion which evolved in to a very diverse background in interior and architectural design. 

“Light in Motion” began with the discovery of a remarkably innovative way to capture light on film.  “My love for light and shadow and how they influence structure and form, has become the subject of my project where the motion, shape and color of light are captured as only the camera can”, Matthews says.

Matthews’s philosophy is based on the fact that photography itself is the art of capturing and controlling light.  “It is only natural that by making light the subject itself that the images which emerge are so uniquely interesting and beautiful.
