Linda Agar-Hendrix’s work centers on form, texture and three dimensional expression. Her series of organic sculptural wall pieces was inspired by the waters surrounding the Greek Cycladic islands, translating images of water into clay, transcending the nature of waves, and opening to varied interpretation. Abstract photographs of these seas and the waters of regional lakes complement the sculptures, presenting reflected seasonal patterns.
Agar-Hendrix, originally from the Berkshires in New England, lived and worked in France before moving to Maryland over 20 years ago. Travel has provided her visual images which have provided the impetus for sculpture and photography. She has exhibited at various galleries in France, New England, Frederick, New York and Baltimore in addition to participating in national and regional juried shows. Her work is in private collections in France and the US.
