Ken Girardini

I have been an artist for over 30 years working in a multidisciplinary approach with works in metal, painting, photography and mixed media. My travels and studies have reestablished my original disciplines, painting and photography, as a major component of my work.

Bringing together my love of metal with painting I can create images that not only glow with reflected light, but also have a surface texture that appears to float above the aluminum substrate. I then incorporate images, printed on transparent layers or transferred directly onto the work that enhance both metal and paint in unexpected ways.

The photographic images themselves, some simply textural, others in analog pairs that have subtle non-verbal connections, tell a story and I believe add meaning to an otherwise abstract surface. Enjoy.
