Gavin Gardner was born in 1977. He graduated in 2000 with a BFA in sculpture from the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts, Old Lyme, CT. Gardner’s relief sculptures have won the Dexter Jones Award from the National Sculpture Society, a Museum Award for sculpture from the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, Hagerstown, MD, and an Honor Award from the Portrait Society of America who selected his work as a finalist in their 2012 International Portrait Competition. In addition he was a finalist in the Art Renewal Center’s 2012 and 2013 International Salon, for which his work was featured in their Salon Catalogue. His commissioned works may be seen at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Potomac, MD, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Smithsville, MD, and at the Baker Park Bandshell, Frederick, MD. Many of his commissioned works are in private collections. His work has been represented by galleries in California and from Virginia to New England. Currently Gardner is a finalist for a public statue commission in Pennsylvania.
